Dr. Rosanne Martorella, Professor of Sociology at William Paterson University in New Jersey,  lectures extensively in Europe, Asia and South America.  As a cultural historian, she focuses on the nature of Art and Society.  She believes that since each continent is unique, people around the globe are proud, and have a rich cultural heritage that is best expressed in their poetry, music, dance, and painting.

Rosanne received her B.A. from City College, CUNY, a Ph.D. from The New School for Social Research in New York City, and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Princeton University.  She teaches Sociology of the Arts, and Medical Sociology.  She is the coordinator of the AKD Honor Society in Sociology, and the Internship Program at the University.  She loves teaching and finds great satisfaction in working with young people.

She is the author of several books, including Art and Business; Corporate Art; Performers and Performances; and The Sociology of Opera.  Several articles appear in scholarly journals.  She has served as a consultant, and conducted studies for nonprofit medical and art organizations, as well as for the travel industry.  Her books are widely quoted in numerous journals and newspapers worldwide, and are an invited speaker in Europe and Asia.

Active in her community, she has also served on the Boards of Nyack Hospital,
St. Thomas Aquinas College, and the National Organization of Italian American Women.  She is especially interested in raising money for scholarships.

She is married to Louis, a physician, and amateur historian.  Both are avid travelers, and share a passion for their antiques and opera.  They especially enjoy meeting people, and sharing a great meal with friends old and new!  They reside in Nyack, N. Y
